I know it's not the weekend but I know you've been thinking about it since about yesterday. Now that it's summer, Friday evening at sunset on the patio with a Sbagliato sounds so good on a Wednesday morning, doesn't it? While I think about weekends, I also think about that time I can spend on myself pertaining to skincare.
I'm a skincare freak.
I take my makeup off every night, I make sure to give it a breather every now and then, I've learned what works for me and what doesn't. The weekends are when I can indulge, whether it's a face mask or a deep cleanse. Here's just one of my weekend routines.
So I got this tip from Into The Gloss' interview with Martha Stewart. She uses baby oil as a precleansing step to get make-up off. I'm not kidding - works like a dream on mascara without rubbing the eyeballs out. It's just a precleanse step, so don't expect it to fully clean the face.
Next up is my favourite cleanser: Cetaphil. This bottle is huge and lasts forever. it's fragrance-free which I like and it's super gentle. Sometimes if I'm in the mood, I'll use this stuff with a face brush to exfoliate.
Occasionally I like to mask binge because - SELF CARE. First up is Glossier's Mega Green's Galaxy Pack. It's a super thick detoxifying mask that cleans the skin. I followed up with Glossier's Moisturizing Moon Mask. Extra moisture never hurt anyone.
After masking, it's time to get real.
I bought Herbavore's Phoenix face oil a few months ago and it's lasted me forever. Again, it smells like roses and leaves my face slick. One last step is slathering on this night cream I found at Choices called Pure Creations. It smells like Bergamot. I've had it since December and I'm only running out now.
Oh yes, during this whole process I made sure to burn a feminine candle. This one from Catbird is so delicious. It's only a travel size bought in New York, but it's a goodie. It smells like champagne for fancy times when I want to smell bubbles but don't want the headache.
